They mentioned setting up two new facilities and expanding their manufacturing for this collection. I'm not certain, but it seems likely based on what I observed and the feedback from salespeople. This highlights the difficulty in planning for both success and failure. Optimizing and getting it right with so much newness at once is incredibly challenging. The signals are probably much less clear.
I will always say that Restoration Hardware does have an advantage over some smaller retailers. The relationship RH has with these factories is so tight that RH will always be a priority. They will always adapt and flex to whatever request comes from RH. To that extent, they do have a bit of an advantage.
