Sunbelt Rentals (AHT) and United Rentals (URI) are the two largest equipment rental firms in the United States with a combined market share of over 30%. The market continues to consolidate with the national rental firms acquiring SME rental companies.
There is very little middle market with 95% of rental firms generating less than $5m revenue:
