And how would you prepare the warehouse in that case, if there is no prior communication and you are only receiving parts and getting calls from carriers? How do you manage the space in the DC and organize it? How do you know what's coming, basically?

Previously, they used to tag the product with a different color for each day, store it in the racks, and had 48 hours to put it away. That's still the case; the maximum window is 48 hours because they don't want it on the floor. They want it put away so it drops off of our batch screen. We worked closely with the vendors to ensure that when they sent it to us, it was prepared properly on the pallet. We aimed to receive as many full pallets as possible. If they had to consolidate multiple zones on one pallet, they made sure there was a separation on the pallet using cardboard or paper. This way, when we received it at the dock, we could identify those parts, get them on the right pallets, and up to those zones right away. Instead of taking 48 hours, Seattle was able to put a shipment away in anywhere from two to four hours.
