Maybe you could provide an overview of how you, as an insider, view it.
I'm a student of management and have been throughout my career. The definition of leadership and how it perpetuates, grows, and evolves an entity is crucial. In the insurance business, it's extraordinarily cyclical, like ocean tides. The hard market comes in, floating all boats, and then the tide rolls out, leaving some boats stuck or sunk in shallow waters. Many companies historically have focused on growth through acquisition without evolving internally. They grow by acquiring, but when acquisitions dry up, they struggle. Some companies push out the creative geniuses who built the entities they bought, replacing them with juniors lacking the creativity to navigate cycles.
