My concern about ADI is whether this strategy of moving away from the general-purpose part and towards the application-specific part is truly sustainable. Or will TI eventually compete with them as they have been doing in the catalog part?
An analysis revealed that 80% of our revenue was coming from only 20% of the components or parts. The rest of the parts that the R&D was producing were essentially leading towards nothing. Another internal analysis showed that even if we stopped all R&D for the next five years, our revenue would barely be affected.
