Raspberry Pi is unique in covering the entire range of needs, from single-board computers to microcontrollers, with the Zero being an interesting middle ground. We could purchase the Zero from Mouser in bulk, which wasn't possible initially. We had to negotiate directly with Raspberry Pi to get 25 units. Now, it is part of the supply chain, making it easy to purchase. Raspberry Pi covers a market segment that others don't quite reach.

In your business, how does quality in the Raspberry Pi manifest?

Generally, we haven't had to worry about the Raspberry Pi component because it reliably performs as needed. If there were a product from a reputable organization with the same specifications but cheaper, it would be interesting to consider. However, the Raspberry Pi's price is already low for its capabilities. Switching to an unknown alternative would only save a few pounds, so there would need to be additional benefits to justify the switch.
