Given that the installer is the most important person, they can recommend one product over the other. Hardie has more marketing dollars to use for rebates, etc. How does that work mechanically? Do they go out at the beginning of the year and say, "If you can do so many square feet for me, here's your rebate"? Could you talk me through the mechanics of that, please?

The rebate can end up at any point along the chain. LP moved their rebates to the end, wanting the builder to receive them because when they gave them to the distributor, they might not pass them down to the builder. To ensure the builder got them, LP did that. I'm not quite sure about Hardie, but I know Hardie gives free tools to the carpenters who do the work and the builder. That's the installer portion of it. They also give rebates back to builders, including national and local home builders. If they do a full package using all Hardie products, they can get a bigger rebate.
