Halma started with Advanced because a competitor was looking to buy them. Hochiki bought Kentec, an Apollo panel manufacturer. So, the Kentec control panel manufacturer went to a competitor, Hochiki. Apollo then tried to secure its UK position by acquiring Advanced Electronics.

No; panel manufacturers and complete systems providers. For example, Apollo's largest customer in the Nordic region was a company called Eltek. They made control panels, bought Apollo detectors, and sold them across the Nordic region. They were a very big customer. They were among the first export customers we worked with, and we grew the Nordic region, which eventually became bigger than the UK. They were eventuallly acquired by Honeywell.

We developed the American Protocols, XP95A, for America and sold them to companies like Gamewell. Gamewell was then acquired by Honeywell. Gamewell was a $4 million company to Apollo before being acquired by the Honeywell Group. Honeywell also bought Morley, a UK panel manufacturer, and then IAS, another UK panel manufacturer, which became Morley-IAS. Morley-IAS still sells Apollo protocol on the panel, but they tried to start selling System Sensor and Honeywell products to move customers away from Apollo.
