I'd be interested in going through each of those to better understand the entry barriers, the economics of the business, and the capital required for greenfield development. Let's start with the landfills. I'm curious about the barriers to entry in that business, the capital investment needed for a new landfill site, and the expected returns or margins.
There are many variables depending on where you want to build your landfill. For example, land in the oil sands is going to be more expensive. The biggest hurdle is likely the AER and obtaining regulatory approval for a new landfill. There's a significant public consultation process involved, which can be quite challenging.
