How do these Chinese principals typically approach these markets in terms of pricing strategy and product differentiation?
Typically, Chinese companies offer multipurpose products. For example, in the case of titanium dioxide, in Western Europe, we have very extensive portfolios with specialty products for each application. Chinese companies try to sum up markets and applications with fewer grades to achieve higher production volume per grade and thus higher economies of scale. It's typically a multipurpose approach with no frills and about 50% fewer grades compared to a Western specialty chemicals producer.
