That's interesting. In your group of drivers, what percentage was national, regional, and local?

It's interesting because when I first started, national drivers made up probably 60% to 70% of the fleet. Then, you had about 20% to 30% regional, and the rest were local. However, by the time I left the industry, around year six or seven of my tenure, the freight industry was clearly changing. It was shifting towards home daily drivers who could cover a regional area but still get home every day or every other day. Alternatively, there were regional drivers who would get home every weekend. The industry was moving towards drivers wanting to get home more frequently. The old-school driver who stayed out for months was starting to disappear. By the time I left, regional drivers made up almost 50% of the fleet, and local drivers increased as well. National drivers still had a significant presence, but it was dwindling due to the industry's changes.
