Where was the damage mainly coming from?

The damage mainly came from forklifts that general commodity carriers use at the dock level. They do this to quickly and efficiently move items on and off vehicles. Many general commodity carriers require skids because they don't have personnel willing to get off the forklift to move items by hand or use other methods.

Carriers were shipping furniture alongside oil drums or rebar construction materials, which could damage the furniture if not loaded correctly. The industry has changed a lot, but there's still a niche in Canada and the U.S. for specialized furniture carriers who have that sector pinned down. It works like no other logistics ecosystem.
