What is the minimum GDP that Amazon considers to launch?
There is no minimum GDP. It is based on whether the investment is going to pay off. In Poland, you have a much lower investment than you would need in a larger country. You compare whether all the investment in the logistics infrastructure—fulfillment centers, offices, and all those things—is going to pay off in Poland.

For many years, the leadership hesitated to launch the store because the ROI was not compelling enough. But at a certain point in 2021, we finally got the green light to launch the store in Poland because it turned out that we already had a lot of infrastructure supporting the German, Italian, and Spanish markets in Poland.

Amazon would always launch new stores in new countries according to the same standardized, proven, playbook, proven from the culture perspective, values perspective and overall strategy of all stores together supporting European business. It was never considered that they would launch the store in Poland and require it to be a major part of the business. The strategy was rather to make it complementary to Spain, Italy, Germany and UK, so that it works as a network for Europe,
