Today marks the launch of Ask IP, our custom AI search tool to query our research library.

You can now query our full library and receive answers in seconds. While this won’t (and probably shouldn't) replace us reading interviews in full, it opens up new learning opportunities to query across thousands of articles on companies within our library.
Everything we do is focused on helping long-term equity investors learn about companies. Our search functionality is no different. Ask IP is built on the following principles:
- Signal over noise - answers are strictly limited to our own proprietary content
- Verbatim quotes over LLM interpretation - limit summaries and interpretation, focus on original quotes
- Everything cited to the original source - every answer must be cited and linked back to the original source
- No data = no answer - if we don’t have relevant research to answer the prompt, we will tell you. Don’t force the LLM to answer
- Focus on long-term equity investors - we use proprietary ranking models and tags such as moats and business models to refine search results.
We are also strict in the answer format: verbatim quotes only, nicely highlighted for readability. For example, this is the result from querying our library on CCC’s software stickiness with repair shops.

For each answer, we show all reference articles in a right side column.

You can also click on any quote to open and read the full interview in the right side-nav:

Ask IP is available on the homepage to query across the full library and within each individual interview page.
Every subscriber has early access from today. Your feedback and input is welcome to shape how we build out the tool.
